Hi my name is Duncan Smith
and I am DRS Marketing, I am 30 years old and have over 12 years
experience in marketing, finance, consulting and customer relations.
I started my working life, with no academic qualifications to
shout about, as a glass collector in a pub. Within 3 years I
became Assistant Manager and was offered my own place. I was
responsible for a team of people and developed my own training
program.
I then went to sell cars at a Car Supermarket for 3 years, great
money but lack of customer care so then went to a dealership.
Again within 3 years I became Business Manager and second in
command. I was responsible for my sales team and every customer,
also the whole garage at weekends and when senior management
was not there.
I then became a Development Manager for a manufacture finance
company, for 4 years. I was responsible for an area and its
performance. My job included training, presenting, motivating,
IT and clerical duties, also dealing with people from the sales
floor to Senior Management.
So starting with no academic qualifications to get me anywhere
I graduated with honours from ‘The University of Life.’
This is when I decided to use all of my self-learnt skills to
the maximum with my own business. I came across a few opportunities
but this by far was the best.
